It's that time again... and to be honest I really don't spend a lot of time on DA anymore. I check it about once a week to find new images for my iPhone. It's sad. I know.

Well the good news... I'm still taking pictures. I tried to walk away from photography for a bit so I could focus more on film and all of these jobs popped up. So far I've shot a wedding and a rock show. Scheduled to shoot 2 models and maybe a fashion line. I'm never busy when I want to be. I should just enjoy it.

I'll probably post a few pics from Carolina Beach and the rock show. I don't seem to have a lot of time on my hands. I'm too busy at work and I waste too much time on Facebook. Plus I've lost touch with the creative design stuff. I need some inspiration.

"The American dream is not to make everyone level with everyone else. But to create the opportunity for all people to reach as high as their God given potential allows." -- Jack Kemp

Life is not about keeping up with the Johnson's. I can't do what most of you do. I'm not that talented and it would take me forever to become that good. So I'm going to do me and be involved in it as much as I WANT to be. If I'm not making art for myself... then I have lost it or I'm getting paid.

PS> If you have a moment check out DA artist Lora8, her stuff is amazing!

6000

Tue May 26, 2009, 7:38 PM
Okay, so I've been dragging my feet. It took me six months to reach just over 6000 and I haven't really posted new stuff. Oh God, where have I been? I've taken many photos and worked on new things, but I haven't really posted anything. (sigh)

Anyways... here's the update...

1. I've printed three pieces of my Graffiti Pencil artwork and I'm having them shown at the Artomatic this year. I spent a lot of money to do this but I'm glad to be contributing to the largest art community project in Washington DC. My spot is on the 7th floor next to the metal lion statue. You can't miss it. [link]

2. I'm doing more side work which isn't really creative enough to post on dA. Don't worry, I'm kind of working on an official website which will host my latest work. But seriously I'm about to quit the graphic design stuff and stick with photography as my only side gig. I just don't have time these days to do both.

3. The thing that is taking up most of my time... is film making and its kind of two fold. One, is a script I'm writing about the end of the world (sort of). It's been hours and hours of brainstorming. It's going to be good. The second, is my thesis film, The Blind Photographer. It's a huge project with great potential. I'm looking for investors, message me and I'll send you a summary.

Well these days seem to be too short and my energy is lacking. I need to be inspired. I need to be self driven. I need to relax. That is when my favorite art is born. Story is King.

Oh, I'm on Twitter now too. [link]

Subscription

Mon Apr 27, 2009, 7:52 PM
So I caved in and bought a 1 year subscription to dA. I will tell you why... because I'm showing my work in a gallery. Well sort of. It's an artist community gallery called the Artomatic and I get an 8'x8' space all to myself! So I'm printing wrapped canvas of my graffiti stuff and I'm hanging three pieces. NOW... if you have ever had bad experiences with dA's canvas... please let me know. It's expensive and I don't feel like getting shafted last minute.

Anyways... I'm sorry if I haven't posted any new material (including on my stock account.) I've been busy. If you really want to track me. Subscribe to my blog or check out my Flickr or ModelMayhem profiles. I seem to post new things there first.

More Graffiti Pencil to come! I'm feeling inspired, so I'm just going to do it. Fawk what they say.

So what's new with you?

Reached another goal and thanks everyone for a great year. I've been pushing myself to post more often and even try to sell my artwork on deviantART. Your kind words and favs keep me going and I will always try to share the love.

Well here are some artist you should watch that I found in 2008, check them out:

So what does 2009 hold for me? Hopefully another DD (on this account). I'll be working on a few independent films. Maybe I'll post some stills here. More model photography and more graphic art (aka Graffiti Pencil). I might be creating a personal website for my work too. I need to start marketing myself. The day job pays for everything but I need to make some passive income from my other skills.

I mean I can't really complain. I'm doing more and I'm getting better at it. Life is good. Plus the gf will be in Spain for 4 months, which should give me a hell of lot more free time.

Also I might be visiting Spain in March. Plus I'm renting out my studio apartment for $2000 during Obama's inauguration. I live in DC right next to the metro. It's going to be insane and I will be down at the mall for all of it. Let me know if you are interested in renting or want to join my photographers group for the inauguration. Sometimes living in the nation's capitol pays off.

Stay true to yourself. Peace & Love.

I joined the cult...

and bought an iPhone.

More to come later but I love it. My father said that I need to use it to show off my work and find new jobs. "Its not for show but to make money." He has a point since PURE envy was the reason why I bought it.

As you can see the modeling thing has picked up and I'm shooting every other weekend by choice. Wow...this is an expensive hobby but I'm enjoying it and that can be priceless. Oh...I'm not going to upload the photos all at once, so the best way to see the new stuff is to visit my Flickr page. [link]

Well...somehow I'm still hungover from my birthday. I need more water!
